A colorful selection of summer sports

When it comes to summer sports, the Zell am See-Kaprun region is an absolute hotspot. Set out on foot to explore the rugged crags of the Hohe Tauern range or the gentle grass-covered mountains of Pinzgau.

Do you love leaning into the pedals? Then hop onto a bicycle, E-bike or road bike and ride along the beautiful bike paths between Zell am See, Kaprun, Bruck and Thumersbach. E-bikers: Look forward to exciting tours assisted by an electric motor. There are plenty of recharging stations as well as rental- and service centers in Zell am See – Kaprun. Our reception team will be happy to share a few personal tips with you. Mountain-bike fans find sensational Enduro and freeride trails on the Kitzsteinhorn. The network of mountain-bike tours is also extensive, from easy to challenging.

Or, why not try your hand at quad racing, tearing through Glemmy’s Offroad Park – with over 60,000 m² of off-roading terrain suitable for beginners and pros.

Lots free with the Zell am See – Kaprun Card

In the morning, when the valley is still quite gloomy, hop on board the first gondola, right next to our resort. Up to the top of the Schmittenhöhe. From there, you will begin your hike. Into the sunrise. Watching as the sun steps out from behind the clouds. The red skies of dawn proclaim the arrival of a new day. The peaks of the Hohe Tauern are resplendent in their most beautiful colors. From up here, you can see over thirty 3,000ers. Great views that are more than ample reward for getting up so early. Time for a photo. Time for a delicious hut breakfast, with fresh coffee and rolls, enjoyed at one of the numerous mountain huts. When the sun stands high in the sky at noontime, you should take advantage of the opportunity to cool off a bit. Enjoy one of the numerous swimming beaches around the Zeller See, all of which are quick and easy to reach.
